Photographing Lucy was so much fun.
She is such a beautifully natured and natural person to be around.
I am looking forward to posting some of the beautiful photographs from her photo session where we had so much fun outside playing with lots of fabric.
Seeing Lucy light up in front of the camera is one of those little moments I love to capture and brings me so much joy as a photographer.
Below are a couple of behind the scene images from her shoot.
Rachaels Story –
At the end of 2012 I met a young handsome farmer by the name of Alexander. I’d not long gotten out of a relationship and wasn’t ready for another and he told me “that’s okay” as he just wanted to be friends.
At the beginning of 2013 he had swept me off my feet! I was astounded by the gentle and caring man that he was and on January 5th when he asked me for the 1000th time to be his girlfriend I finally agreed! This would all be thrown into limbo when on January 26th I decided I would move to Wanaaring, 200kms west of Bourke to work for a remote educational service. Through this however he stuck by me, calling every night to talk, sending messages via the wifi since there was no phone service out their and spending every school holidays together when I would go back to the New England for my breaks.
It wasn’t until November 20th of 2013 that my love grew for him even more when he drove from Bendemeer NSW to Bourke NSW late one night and into the early morning to pick me up after I left my job in the outback quite abruptly. I didn’t have a vehicle while working out west, only the work vehicle which I had to leave behind.
From here we decided on the drive home to move in together and give us a real shot! Little did I know what he had planned.
On December 20th 2013 he decided to take me for an early birthday dinner at the spot we first went on a date to nearly 12 months earlier. A gorgeous little cafe in Uralla that’s part second hand book shop and cafe all in one! I was sent outside for half an hour while he got my birthday present organised and was told to not come inside under any circumstances until told to do so. I was eventually allowed back inside and found a yellow Manila envelope with my name on it. The envelope followed me everywhere I went for the afternoon! We eventually arrived at my parents, we had planned to stay there for the night so we could both have a drink or two. We went to town for our date and the entree came out, I asked if I was allowed to open the envelope yet but he said not until dessert, I’m not very good with surprises. I quickly ate my entree and my main and alas, dessert arrived! I was handed the yellow Manila envelope and opened it with so much excitement only to find 4 pieces of blank red paper. I looked up at him to ask what was going on when he was holding a ring in his hand and asked me to marry him! I of course said yes!!!!
12 months of busy planning and on December 6th of 2014 we were married at the Catholic Church in Uralla followed by a lovely reception at Mcrossins mill museum also in Uralla.
We decided after the wedding to try falling pregnant despite me having suspected endometriosis. In August we found out we were expecting! It was the most exciting time! Over Christmas I decided to go and visit a dear friend of mine Hannalise on the central coast and spent a few days with her incredible family and two gorgeous children. During my stay she asked if I would like some photos taken with my bump, I of course said yes! She took took me to a few amazing locations, one of my favourites being by the side of the road with some cattle in the background. The sun was just beginning to set and being from the land this back drop with the cattle in the Back ground made for images I’ll never forget.
On May 16th 2016 we welcomed our beautiful little girl Grace Lillian Laurie into the world! She was 7 pound and 11 ounces. Looking back on the images Hannalise took I cannot believe my belly was ever that big! The photos are something I will treasure forever and when Grace is old enough I will be able to share them with her.

I had the beautiful opportunity of heading to Armidale to photograph a beautiful couple in a very special stage of their life.
They are very soon due to have a little baby and doing a maternity shoot to capture this short season before they become a little family of 3 was such an honour.
It was a lot of fun working together to achieve the photos.
I employed the help of Lisa’s husband to help flick the fabric and in the end we got such a beautiful photograph showing the beautiful Lisa and her baby bump.
This weekend I will be delivering this photographs printed and ready for framing.
I love seeing work printed.
Here are the photographs from the session.
Recently I have been enjoying photographing in this beautiful style.
It is so simple, beautiful and the way it evokes emotion is amazing.
These images for me are a form of being empowered to express emotion, elegance, as well as the allure of the feminine body and the way it can be used to express oneself.
All photographed using natural light in my home studio in Jilliby on the NSW Central Coast.
A simple set up and a wonderful outcome.
Photographing Jessica was so much fun.
Jess brought so much energy to her photo session we just could not help but get amazing photographs.
I suggested the idea of doing a milk bath shoot and she was more than happy to have a go.
I love the photographs from this photo session because they are so classy and elegant, yet inspired by high fashion shoots.
Such a luxurious concept that we had fun with.
Check out the beautiful photographs from this beauty session below.
Recently I took time to get myself in front of the camera.
I believe that it is important that all women have an opportunity to feel and look beautiful.
I made sure that I even had a chance to experience it too.
Being a single mother of two beautiful children takes a lot of time and energy and having time for myself is rare some weeks.
I took time to do my hair and make-up, then sorted through the outfits I might put on and the backdrops I wanted to use as well as the way in which I wanted to be photographed.
These are the beautiful images that I have fallen in love with.
I felt beautiful, classy, enchanting, elegant, stylish and feminine.
I have even set one of the photographs as my computer backdrop and each time I look at it I feel beautiful again.
The week beautiful Melinda walked into my home studio in Jilliby.
She had this beauty about her.
Working with Melinda this week was such a wonderful opportunity to see how she is working towards her acting goals.
Melinda came to my studio without her hair or make-up done and together we had fun giving her a transformation.
Once her hair and make-up was done it was time for her photo session, she has brought along 5 beautiful dresses to wear and we did an additional 3 look afterwards with the dresses that I had in my studio.
Seeing her light up in front of the camera as she followed my posing direction and I gave her a quick look at what I was capturing in camera was such a joy.
Melinda looked exquisite.
Last week I had the pleasure of photographing Jessica in a white sheet shoot.
Photographing her in this style gives an opportunity to be beautiful, sexy and intimate without being overexposed.
It is such a simple shoot and being able to make women feel beautiful is something I truly enjoy.
When Jess saw the photographs from this beautiful photo session her comment about it was “I never doubt Hannalise’s creative genius . She knows how to bring the beauty out in us women”.
Photographing these women the other week was such a pleasure.
They are all so naturally beautiful and lovely women to be around, you can’t help but smile.
The special occasion was to celebrate Donna getting married in a surprise bridal shower.
Here are just a couple of beautiful photographs of the women who came along to celebrate.
These photographs were taken initially prompted by the wedding anniversary for Errol & Carol celebrating 50 years. Photographing this beautiful couple was a special moment in time to capture, the fact that they have worked together as a married couple to build a wonderful life and a wonderful family who are so special to have a chance to hang around. Spending time with this family seeing how they enjoy each other’s company was such a precious gift. Capturing 4 generations together was so much fun – these guys care for each other, love each other and know how to have fun together. We were out at Lake Munmorah on a beautiful little jetty overlooking the water on a beautiful afternoon, check out the photographs below.
This special family was photographed up in Armidale recently. It was a beautiful afternoon where it was not too cold, the clouds looked very dramatic and the overall colours were just amazing. Having this opportunity to photograph this wonderful family was priceless. The way they care for each other and interacted showed the amount that they enjoy being around one another. This family portrait session was done to celebrate Kyoko and Paul’s wedding anniversary – a special moment captured for all time.
Yanneke was called a little garden flower by the end of our photo session. She was so much fun to work with. A lovely smile and an air of simplicity about her as we wondered through the garden finding beautiful spots to photograph her in the setting afternoon light. We settled on the pumpkin patch which has currently overgrown everything in our orchid – including the chicken run. It is amazing how a plant can make a beautiful back drop. White dress, flower crown, beautiful model, garden beauty – makes for a fun photo session. Check out the photographs below.
Having my own natural light studio is so much fun to work in. I regularly get the pleasure of working with actors who need updated portfolios. We always have so much fun creating a number of different looks that they need for their agent. Some days there is a lack of natural light and I get one of my studio lights that have been nicknames “the sun” because of how round it is. There is always so much fun to be had in my photo sessions some days getting the serious shot can be a mission – but it is always an enjoyable time. Below are a couple of photographs from the shoot with Jessica and my ever helpful assistant Yanneke who was around to help out during the school holidays. If you need new actors headshots and a portfolio update please do not hesitate to contact.
My sister asked me to take a photo for her for her university identification that has to be used over the next few years.
We did a standard passport style shot, then I asked her if I could take a couple more photographs of her.
Below is one of the photographs I took of Dani in our quick 5 minute shoot.
It makes me so happy having a beautiful photograph of my sister.
Thank you Dani for letting me take you picture.
Working with Jessica Quoy was such a joy, she is so relaxing to be around, funny and free to be herself.
Jess needed some updated head shots so we did that, then had a blast playing with fabric and different outfits.
A special shout out to my youngest sister who was throwing the fabric around in the background helping us get such beautiful photographs of such a beautiful subject.
Below is a video from the afternoon of fun.
